Menorca and the Coronavirus

It's hard to believe it was only 2 months ago that we were gearing up to opening up Villa Marron after a long winter in preparation for another busy season in 2020. Fast forward a few weeks and the global Covid-19 pandemic has managed to turn the world upside down and sweep away life as we knew it.
Menorca has, along with the rest of Spain, been through a strict lockdown. Local police have been proactive in ensuring nobody leaves their house accompanied or for any purpose other than to shop for food or medicine, or for essential work. The beginning of May, however, will start to see small relaxations which we are all hoping will be the start of many that will gradually allow island life to get back to normal.
The first few of our guests have sadly had to cancel their holidays owing to the travel ban. We have been flexible in our cancellation policy and everyone so far has asked me to retain their deposits so that they can book another date in the future. There is no way of knowing when the island will be open to tourists again but rest assured Villa Marron is being very well looked after and we can't wait to welcome back our guests as soon as possible.
