Experience the magic of the Cala'n Porter Fiesta

The third weekend in September brings to Cala'n Porter the truly spectacular tradition of the Menorcan fiesta. The mix of colourful decorative garlands, crowds, music, live entertainment, spectacular horsemanship, fireworks and buckets of pomade (a highly recommended concoction of gin, lemonade and ice) brings out the best of what Menorca has to offer when it comes to what is essentially the ultimate street party.

The Menorcan summer fiestas are held in the local towns from June to September, are not tourist events, and are genuine, unique and much loved by the islanders. One of the most eagerly awaited moments are the 'Cargols', when riders circle specific points along the route and especially the 'Jaleos', where riders bring their horse onto their rear legs. To experience a Menorcan fiesta is something you will always remember and the Cala'n Porter fiesta is one of the best.
